Your Itinerary

Day 0: Wed Nov 26 - Welcome to Costa Rica

Transfer from Juan Santamaria Airport

Arrive in Costa Rica and settle in for your first night.

Day 1: Thu Nov 27 - Discover the Costa Rican Pacific Coast

Transfer to Puntarenas and warm-up ride

After arriving at Juan Santamaría Airport, we'll transfer to Puntarenas for a scenic ferry ride to Paquera. Once we arrive, a brief 5 km bike ride will take us to our hotel. Unwind with a welcome dinner and relax by the pool while we prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Fri Nov 28 - Riding the Coast

45km / 600m

We’ll start with a typical Costa Rican breakfast before heading out on a beautiful coastal route toward Cabuya. Enjoy a break in Montezuma, then continue to Cabuya, where we’ll explore a unique cemetery on an island and visit an indigenous café to taste locally grown coffee and chocolate.

Day 3: Sat Nov 29 - Between Sea and Mountains

72km / 900m

We’ll cycle from Cabuya to Corazolito, passing through the stunning Manzanillo and San Francisco de Coyote for rest and refreshments. We’ll have a tour of the Macaw Recovery Network in the late afternoon where we can admire macaw parrots, an endangered species.

Day 4: Sun Nov 30 - Adventure Awaits

Today we’ll ride towards Ostional, with a stop in Samara and Garza for rest and lunch. Depending on the moon phase and timing of the trip, we’ll have the option to visit a local turtle nesting site, a truly extraordinary experience on the beach at nighttime.

Day 5: Mon Dec 1 - Culture and Nature in Motion

Our route today leads us to Santa Cruz, with stops for rest and lunch along the way. In Santa Cruz, we'll dive into Costa Rican culture with a visit to the Guatil Craft Center and the Chorotega Pottery Museum.

Day 6: Tue Dec 2 - Santa Cruz and National Parks

After breakfast, we will explore beautiful Santa Cruz. In the afternoon, we’ll wonder in one of the nearby national parks to take in its natural beauty. We’ll then head back to San José to pack our bikes and prepare for departure the next day.

Day 7: Wed Dec 3 - Farewell Costa Rica

Transfer to Juan Santamaria Airport

We’ll enjoy breakfast and bring you to the airport with a private transfer for your flight back home, taking with you unforgettable memories from this epic journey.

Your Guide

Meet Adriana, Costa Rican cyclist, founder of Cycling Ventura and official ambassador of the Titan Desert, Andean Ride, and Death Road ultra-cycling races. Since 2013, she has explored epic MTB, gravel, and bikepacking routes across the Sahara, Central America, Mexico, and Colombia.

Passionate about adventure, community, and pushing limits, she connects cyclists with nature and local culture through unforgettable rides. A lover of good coffee, ice cream, and sunsets (preferably on the beach), she’s always ready to share the journey—alongside her loyal companion, Piddle.
